From CAD File to Inspected Parts — Four Steps

Speed without shortcuts. Every phase documented.
Upload Your Files

Submit STEP, DXF, STL, or DWG files with your specifications. The quoting engine analyses geometry and returns instant pricing for standard parts. Complex parts go to engineering review.

Receive Your Quote with DFM Review

TOP PROTO engineers confirm tolerances, material compatibility, and any design issues before quoting. You receive pricing, lead time, and specific DFM notes — within 24 hours for standard orders.

Production Starts After Approval

On approval, files move to scheduling, material allocation, and CNC programming. In-process dimensional checks run at defined intervals. You can track progress throughout.

Parts Shipped with Full Documentation

Every feature is measured against your drawing before shipment approval. Parts arrive with a dimensional inspection report, material certifications, and Certificate of Conformance.

What Makes TOP PROTO Different from Other Suppliers

Smart Quoting with DFM Feedback
Upload your STEP file and receive pricing with DFM notes — not a contact form and a 3-day wait. Quote within 24 hours of upload.
In-House Manufacturing Only
No global sourcing network. No broker layer. One facility, one team, one accountable quality system.
Certified Quality on Every Order
ISO 9001:2015 certified. Dimensional inspection report and material certifications ship with every order — not on request.
Confirmed Lead Times
Prototype CNC parts from 1–3 business days on rush. Most services in 3–5 business days. Production orders get a confirmed ship date.

Top Proto’s direct manufacturing model eliminates broker markups and subcontractor delays. Parts are quoted, produced, inspected, and shipped by the same team in the same Shenzhen facility — which is why our lead times start from 24 hours for standard CNC parts and our pricing is competitive with the largest online machining platforms without sacrificing documented quality.

  • Instant online quotes for standard geometries — no waiting for manual quotation cycles
  • Lead times from 24 hours for standard aluminum CNC parts; 3 to 5 days for most service lines
  • No minimum order quantity on CNC machining, 3D printing, or sheet metal fabrication
  • Competitive per-unit production pricing from our Shenzhen facility with no hidden broker fees
  • Express shipping to North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East with tracking from dispatch

Competitive Pricing and Fast Delivery on Every Order

Precision You Can Verify — Quality Assurance at TOP PROTO

Quality is built into every production step, not checked at the end. Every order follows a documented inspection plan covering incoming material, in-process checks, and final dimensional measurement.
TOP PROTO operates CMM machines, optical profilometers, calibrated height gauges, dial indicators, thread and bore gauges, hardness testers, and eddy current coating gauges — all calibrated to national measurement standards.
Every order ships with a dimensional inspection report, material certifications traceable to heat and lot number, and a Certificate of Conformance. First Article Inspection Reports formatted to AS9102 or AIAG PPAP are available on request.
TOP PROTO’s quality management system holds ISO 9001:2015 certification with annual third-party surveillance audits. Every process — CNC, 3D printing, sheet metal, casting, and finishing — operates under a single certified QMS.
Non-conforming parts are quarantined and reworked — never shipped to meet a deadline. Every non-conformance triggers a root cause investigation. Statistical process control runs on repeat production programmes.

Frequently asked questions

TOP PROTO operates CNC machining, 3D printing, sheet metal fabrication, vacuum casting, injection molding, wire EDM, and surface finishing — all from one facility in Dongguan, China. That means one DFM review, one quality system, and one shipment regardless of which process your project requires. No subcontracting on standard orders. The full service range covers prototypes and low-volume parts from a single piece upward.
Standard CNC work follows ISO 2768-m — ±0.01 mm on linear dimensions, sufficient for most structural and non-critical geometry. Functional interfaces hold to ±0.005 mm. For critical features — bearing seats, sealing surfaces, precision bores — tight-tolerance 5-axis machining achieves ±0.005 mm, measured by CMM and reported per feature against your drawing callout. Wire EDM reaches ±0.002–0.005 mm on 2D profiles. Every tight-tolerance order ships with a dimensional inspection report confirming actual measured values against nominal.
Prototype CNC parts ship in 1–3 business days on rush orders; standard lead time is 5 business days. 3D printing ranges from 2 days (FDM) to 5–6 days (SLS). Sheet metal prototypes from 3 business days. Vacuum casting and injection molding have longer lead times due to tooling — see each service page for current timelines. Quote turnaround is 24 hours from file upload — including a DFM review. International shipping adds 3–7 days depending on destination and freight service.
No minimum on CNC machining, 3D printing, or sheet metal fabrication. A single part is a valid order. Per-unit cost is higher on single pieces — setup time is the same whether you run one or a hundred — but there is no order floor. For vacuum casting the practical minimum is 5–10 units to justify mould preparation. Injection molding has no formal MOQ but tooling cost makes very small quantities uneconomical; raise this at quote stage.
STEP (.step / .stp) is the preferred format for all 3D parts — it carries full geometry and is what engineers generate toolpaths and build files from. STL, IGES, OBJ, DXF, DWG, and PDF are also accepted. SolidWorks (.sldprt), CATIA (.CATPart), and Parasolid (.x_t) are accepted for CNC machining. For sheet metal, DXF with bend table is ideal. If you only have a 2D drawing, send it — fully dimensioned PDFs work for simpler geometry.
CNC machining covers aluminium (6061, 7075, 2024), stainless steel (303, 304, 316L, 17-4PH), titanium (Grade 2 and Grade 5), brass, copper, tool steel, steel alloy (4140, 4340), bronze, and engineering plastics including PEEK, Delrin, nylon, ABS, polycarbonate, PTFE, HDPE, acrylic, and Ultem. 3D printing covers SLA resins, SLS and MJF nylon (PA12), and FDM thermoplastics (ABS, PETG, TPU, ASA). Sheet metal uses aluminium, stainless steel, mild steel, brass, and copper. Confirm your specific grade and condition at quote stage.
Cost depends on the process, material, geometry, tolerance, and quantity. CNC machining is priced by material cost plus machine time — a simple aluminium bracket costs considerably less than a complex titanium component with tight positional tolerances. 3D printing is priced by build volume and process. Upload your STEP file for an exact quote within 24 hours — including DFM feedback. No fees for DFM review or inspection documentation. What you see in the quote is what you pay.
Xometry is a marketplace — it routes your order to one of thousands of shops. TOP PROTO is a direct manufacturer. Your part is quoted, planned, machined, and inspected by one team in one facility. That means consistent quality, clear accountability, and direct engineer-to-engineer communication when questions arise. Protolabs charges a premium for speed and targets the US and European market. TOP PROTO operates from Dongguan — competitive pricing, same tolerances (±0.005 mm), the same documentation standard, with shipping to 100+ countries.
